Berlin Diary # 4 – Payback is a bitch of a whore

So there I was, minding my own business, taking a leak at Marriot hotel restroom, when I spotted the most terrific sounding film so far – Hanger (in Finnish, the title could be “Henkari Helvetistä!”). And what an awesome film it is – just take a look at the poster here:

Yesterday was sort of a busy day, with tons of parties going on around the city, and a dinner called Dine & Shine at Berlin Talent Campus. That was a very depressing event for me at least, an excellent example of German organizational abilities. We were forced to change places between every course to meet interesting people – to dine and to shine. Well, I had a terrible headache (the same that I’ve had during the whole festival) and didn’t speak to anybody, and after that headed back to the hotel to get some sleep.

Which failed miserably. Essi dropped me a line and asked me to join her at Fantastic Fest party, which had started out a bit slow, but was all going when I entered the place. Located in a bowling/karaoke hall, I had my doubts because I hate bowling even more than I hate karaoke, but for some wicked reason they seemed to work together surprisingly well. I was happy to meet Todd from Twitch & other great freaks from all over the world, drank few beers, met an old friend who I hadn’t really met in ages (he – Toni Pykäläniemi – is working on a pretty interesting production called Mothgirl – more about that later on).

This morning I knew right away that it’s Monday, because the men at work outside our window started their stone drills, pile drivers and metal cutters, and my best and most trustworthy friend, hangover, entered the room, not intending to leave until around the noon.
